Visit the Waterfall of São Nicolau
There are several natural waterfalls in São Tomé and Príncipe, most of which are inaccessible, for which reason the São Nicolau waterfall has become the most well-known and admired. With a height of around 20 m, it is surrounded by steamy and lush vegetation that contrasts with the cool air coming from the stones and water of the waterfall. The surrounding area and bridge have been recently restored. We continue our trip through stunning natural landscape to the Roça Monte Café plantation. Founded in 1850, this was one of the largest producers of cocoa and coffee. Today it houses the recently opened National Coffee Museum, where we can learn about coffee processing, from cultivation, to the harvest, to the coffee bean as we know it and ending with a coffee tasting.
